Napkin Folding Video : Napkin folding rollern - Pliage en rouleau
To fold a napkin into a roller shape, begin with your napkin laying flat and sideways (in a diamond shape) on the table in front of you. Fold the bottom point upward so that it meets the top point, forming a triangle. Grasp the napkin from its lower corners and gently pull it toward you in order to help straighten it and smooth out any wrinkles.
Take the top layer of napkin at the top and fold only that layer downward, so that its point meets the bottom edge. Now take the other layer at the top and fold it down in the same manner, except this time allow the point to be about a half an inch from the bottom edge.
Slightly to the left of the center, grasp the napkin both at the top and bottom and lift it up. The point of the left side will now be resting about a half an inch away from the edge of the other side. Take this side and lie it face down on the table, so that the side that was previously the right side is now face up. Pat lightly to ensure everything is tidy and secure.
With the point facing downward, grasp napkin from both sides, with both hands slightly above the center. Lift the napkin up as if to flip it over face down with the point now facing upward. At the location where you placed your hands, fold the flat edge up so it leaves only a triangle at the top leading to the point.
Rotate 90 degrees clockwise so that the point is facing to the right. Make sure the top edge of the top layer is perfectly aligned to the top edge of the lower layer.
Lift the pointed side on the right upward into the air, and fold it down at its center. Lift the top layer on the left side creating an open gap; still holding the right side in the air, tuck the center of the folded edge from the right side into this gap on the left. Close the gap by grasping the napkin.
Rotate 180 degrees. Straighten and tidy your work to prepare it to be displayed.
