Napkin Folding Video : Napkin folding rectangle - Pliage en rectangle
To fold a napkin into a rectangle, begin with it fully opened on the table, in a square shape. Fold one third of the bottom edge upward. Now take this top layer and fold its top edge so it meets the bottom edge.
Take the bottom edge and fold it halfway up the layer beneath it. Use both hands to smooth out this entire section, making it tidy and wrinkle-free. Using both hands, grasp this entire section of the napkin from both sides. Fold it upward so it covers the upper section except for about 1 inch.
You should now be looking at a rectangle with a set of 3 small horizontal lines (each about 1 inch apart) along the top edge, and one larger horizontal section at the bottom.
Fold the left side underneath, so that its edge goes two-thirds of the way across the backside of the napkin. Fold the right side underneath so that its edge does the same; this former right edge should now meet the left edge from underneath. Rotate 90 degrees clockwise and display.
