Napkin Folding Video : Napkin folding rabbit - Pliage en lapin
To fold a napkin into a rabbit shape, begin with it fully opened on the table in front of you (positioned in a diamond shape). Fold the bottom point upward so that it meets the top point. Grasp the napkin and pull gently downward to remove any wrinkles, and ensure the fold is straight.
You are now looking at a triangle shape, with its point facing upward. Fold the point on the lower left just to the right of the center of the bottom edge of the triangle. Fold the point on the lower right slightly over that, with its point resting at the bottom of the left edge.
You should now see what appears like an opened square-shaped envelope. Hold the topmost layer at the bottom right of the envelope in place; take the point at the lower left and fold it up so the point is reaching upward, but do not allow the bottom of this fold to leave the lower right edge of the envelope.
Lift up this newly folded edge slightly, so as to grab the layer beneath it. Hold the bottom left of the envelope in place. Fold this underneath layer upward in the same manner you just folded the other side—with its point facing upward—but again without allowing the bottom of the fold to leave the lower left edge of the envelope.
Fold over about 3 inches of the entire bottom edge of the envelope. Pat lightly to secure this fold. Flip entire napkin so you are seeing the “address” side of your “envelope.” Fold over the right side and left side so that they come together vertically.
Hold the top folds at the bottom. Fold the upper edge downward so it meets the bottom edge. You are now seeing a smaller square shape. Flip the napkin over.
With the two pointed edges facing downward, open the gap inside your rabbit at the top. Face this gap toward the table, and be sure the points (“rabbit ears”) face toward the room to be clearly viewed for display purposes.
