Table Setting - Napkin Folding for Restaurants Hotels Wedding Parties

Napkin Folding Video : Napkin folding lily flowerhorn - Pliage en fleur de lys

To fold a napkin into a lily flower shape, begin with your napkin fully opened on the table in front of you, in a square shape. Fold the bottom edge upward one third of the way. Firm the folded edge by pressing the fingers of both hands from the center moving to the outer edge.

Fold the top edge downward over the previous fold, so that it precisely meets the horizontal bottom edge of the napkin. You are now viewing an elongated rectangle shape. Fold the left side of the rectangle over the other side, halving it—its outer edge meeting the left edge of the layer beneath. Press firmly with your left hand to flatten the newly folded edge on the left. (Be sure to press firmly enough so as to create a visible crease when unfolded!)

Unfold the previous step to reveal the crease. Fold the left side of the napkin one fourth of the way over, its edge meeting the crease you just created. Fold the right side over the same amount so that its edge meets the other, in the center.

You should now be viewing a somewhat square-shaped napkin, comprised of two smaller rectangles positioned vertically longways. In the rectangle on the left side, fold its lower left edge upward, creating a triangle whose top point meets the center. In the exact same manner (except a mirror image), now take the rectangle on the right side and fold its right edge upward, creating a triangle whose top point also meets the center.

Flip the napkin over to reveal a triangle shape. Fold the point of the triangle on the lower right inward and over toward the center. This point should land about two inches away from the outer edge of the triangle's left side. In likewise fashion, fold the point of the triangle on the lower left inward over toward the center. This point should land about two inches away from the outer edge of the triangle's right side.

To secure these changes, take the lower flap of the triangle on the right side and pull it up and over the left triangle, so that it covers it slightly. Open the gap at the top and lift the entire napkin off the table. Place the gap face-down onto the table, and rotate your finished work 180 degrees.

Straighten and blossom the top 4 folds of your lily flower napkin, for display purposes.
