Napkin Folding Video : Napkin folding hat - Pliage en coiffe
To fold a napkin into a hat shape, begin with your napkin fully opened on the table in front of you, in a large diamond shape. Take the bottom point of the diamond and fold it upward so it meets the top point, forming a triangle. Grasp the right and left points of this triangle and pull lightly so remove wrinkles. Using both hands in the center and moving to the outer edge, press and smooth to flatten and remove more wrinkles.
Take the lower right corner of the triangle and fold it up and to the left so that its point meets the top point of the triangle. Take the lower left corner and fold it up and to the right so that its point meets the top of the triangle as well.
You should now be viewing a smaller diamond shape, comprised of two smaller triangles. Fold the bottom edge of the diamond upward so that its point arrives about 3 inches from the top point. Still holding on, fold this same point halfway downward, so that its point meets the bottom. Continue to hold this point, and fold it again upward so that the point lands just past the top of the straight edge below it. Fold this point once more downward so that it meets the bottom edge.
Grip the group of folds you just created and hold tightly while you flip the napkin over. You should now be viewing a triangle. Fold the lower right corner up and to the left so that the point lands just barely to the left of the center of the triangle. Fold the lower left corner up and to the right so that the point lands on the straight edge on the right.
Fold the top layer at the bottom over so that it secures your other layers. Then flip the napkin over once again. Two points exist at the top; fold each of them downward into the pocket below them.
Rotate 180 degrees and neaten your work, in order for it to be beautifully displayed.
