Napkin Folding Video : Napkin Folding cone - Pliage en cone
To fold a napkin into a cone shape, begin by laying the opened napkin in front of you. Take both sides of the bottom and fold upwards so that one third of the lower end is covering the remainder of the napkin. To verify, the edge that was previously closest to you will now reside in the center of the napkin.
Flatten out the folded edge neatly. For a tidy and accurate result, throughout the process, do not forget to do this at each step. Do so by pressing firmly with your palm or finger tips and sliding them along each newly folded edge.
Next, proceed to grasp the upper right and left sides and fold the upper third area of the napkin over top of the part you just finished folding upward. The result should look like a rectangle which is longer horizontally than vertically.
Pull the left side of this rectangular shape and fold one third of it to the right. To ensure you have done so correctly, the folded area should be equal in size to the part to the right which has not been folded in this step.
Take the upper left corner of the folded edge and fold diagonally until it meets the center of the area beneath it. This forms a new corner which protrudes out to the center left. Take this new corner and fold over until the top layer meets the previously folded edge.
Roll the top layer over one time, flatten, and then roll the new top layer also. Flip over to reveal what should resemble a kite (deltoid) shape, with a long tip and a short tip. Separate the folds of the short tip and fold upward. Flip over and, being careful to keep the napkin together, fold the remaining half of the short tip upward on that side.
Now, as if to flip it over once more, only flip halfway so that the napkin is now on its side. Reach inside the bottom of the napkin with a finger from each of your hands, and pull so that a round hole forms at the bottom of the napkin. Carefully lifting the napkin, face the newly rounded hole towards the table and allow beautiful result to be proudly displayed.
