Napkin Folding Video : Napkin folding cob - Pliage en epi
To fold a napkin into a cob shape, begin with the napkin fully opened on the table in front of you, in a large square shape. Grasp the bottom left and right corners and fold upward one quarter of the way up. While still holding these edges, halve this section, moving downward. Continuing to hold, halve this smaller new section, moving upward. This creates a step pattern.
To complete the pattern, take the entire patterned area at the bottom and fold it upward so that it covers the non-patterned area at the top, except leaving one additional step's worth of fabric showing. Smooth out your progress by pressing firmly with both hands in the middle, moving outward toward the outer edges.
Flip the napkin over, pressing firmly from the middle, moving outward, to remove any wrinkles. You should now viewing a rectangle positioned horizontally longways. Take the entire right side of the rectangle and fold it upward away from the rest of the rectangle. This creates a mirror image of a symmetrical L-shape.
Fold the right (horizontal) side of your L-shape upward so that it folds slightly under the vertical side. This step forms a closed V-shape.
Flip the napkin once again, patting it down to ensure it remains neat and tidy. Fold the pointed corner on the right inwards, until the pointed edge meets the halfway point of the center section. Fold the pointed corner on the left over top of this newly folded portion.
Very carefully flip the napkin, with the pointed edge facing downward (toward you). The cob-shaped napkin is now ready to be displayed.
